How we check listings

Every co-packer on CopackIndex links to the page its details came from, and shows the date we last checked it.

Who we list

We only list a business when its own website, a public register or a trade directory shows that it makes or packs products for other brands. Brands that only make their own products aren’t included.

Where the details come from

  • The co-packer’s own pages: what it makes, its formats and any minimum run it publishes.
  • Public registers and trade directories: official supplier directories, regional food and drink directories and trade-show exhibitor lists.
  • Company registers: such as Companies House in the UK, to confirm the business exists.

Certifications

We show certifications as the company or the source states them. Certificates expire and audits are renewed every year, so always ask for a current certificate, and for food, its grade, before you sign. When a listing says “None stated”, it means we found no certification in the sources, not that the business has none.

How often we check

We add and re-check listings every week. If a business stops co-packing or closes, it comes off the index.

What we never do

  • We don’t sell certifications or change facts for featured listings. Featured listings are always labelled.
  • We don’t publish reviews we can’t verify.
  • We don’t list private individuals.
